Summary
The Network and System Administrator is responsible for support of desktop/laptop hardware and software applications, phone systems, printers and related systems and software to support the organization’s needs. This person is also responsible for network infrastructure and server room including servers, network hardware, software and applications for all Company locations.
Essential Duties &Accountabilities:
- Must be a highly motivated individual with the required experience in the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, and networking devices
- Network administration including backups, security management, user account management, email systems, and internet access.
- Works with VP of Information Technology to plan, implement and support the network and computing infrastructure plan.
- Supports voice communications.
- Provides network support by researching, analyzing and resolving associated problems.
- Performs technical related tasks for projects including software, equipment and facilities.
- Provides training of end users on systems and applications.
- Assists management with IT solutions that ensure target objectives.
- Works with IT team to find solutions for various project and operational needs.
- Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures.
- Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible threats or intrusions
- Configures firewall software to accommodate PBE’s requirements.
- Applies OS patches on a monthly basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities as necessary.
- Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
- Serves as main point of contact on all IT related matters for all Company facilities.
- Ensures company assets and software licensing are maintained and used responsibly.
- Performs administrative functions on all network systems as needed for implementation, support and maintenance.
- Monitors performance and capacity of systems and implements modifications and upgrades as required.
- Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be organized, able to work in a small team environment, willing to learn at a fast pace, and maintain a great can-do attitude
- Candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, IT Certified Training or equivalent
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MCSA Admin, or MCSE Core
- Experience: 3+ years in Cisco Network and Windows server
