Peraton is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support our National Programs Intelligence Systems & Application Operating Unit. The SITE III ITS Task Order effort is charged with the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission applications and services for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
The potential candidate requires previous experience with Linux and Windows System Administration for applications in a classified environment. System Administration tasking will include installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers, virtual servers, application software upgrades; and supporting DBA tasks associated with PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all Operation & Maintenance (O&M) tasks and maintaining operational baselines and performance of application O&M activities to include: patching, application monitoring, and customer support. When necessary the candidate will troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend appropriate action. Candidate will work closely with members of the project team, product subject matter experts, end users, and software engineers to ensure that the application remains operational by monitoring application performance, providing technical assistance, and consultation to users. Additional duties will include supporting database administrators, developing tools to assist in management of systems, ensuring application documentation (e.g., System Administration Guides, SOPs, Installation Procedures, etc.), and performing daily application backups.
Overall System Admin responsibilities include:
- Provide Linux and Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Tier 2/3 support to government customers and other project team members in a DoD enterprise environment.
- Troubleshoot and debug server-based application(s) and/or IT infrastructure component(s)
- Perform occasional after-hour tasks, including but not limited to, restarting systems, application upgrades, hardware maintenance, etc.
- Ensure all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is regularly maintained.
- Perform performance monitoring and provide documentation of issues and recommendations to upper management.
- Maintain and patch systems, software and applications to eliminate bugs/defects, security vulnerabilities, and maintain technology currency of systems and applications to maintain or renew existing ATOs
- Participate in change management processes to include patch compliance and Information Assurance Validation Testing.
