Our client, a leading private equity firm, is seeking an experienced Operating Partner to provide strategic leadership and hands-on operational support across its portfolio companies. This role is critical to driving value creation, ensuring operational excellence, and achieving growth objectives across a diverse set of industries.
Position Overview:
The Operating Partner will work closely with portfolio company leadership teams and private equity stakeholders to identify and execute growth opportunities, improve operational performance, and enhance organizational capabilities. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in private equity environments, a proven track record of scaling businesses, and a strong operational acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Oversight: Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to develop and execute strategic plans that drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance profitability.
- Operational Excellence: Assess and optimize operations across portfolio companies, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, reduce costs, and scale effectively.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with private equity goals and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Strategic Initiatives: Lead and support strategic projects, including market expansion, product development, and technology implementation.
- M&A Support: Oversee operational due diligence and integration for acquisitions, ensuring a seamless transition and alignment with value creation goals.
- Leadership Development: Mentor and guide portfolio company executives, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and results.
- Private Equity Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the private equity firm and portfolio companies, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
- Industry Expertise: Provide insights and recommendations based on industry trends and best practices to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of leadership experience, including significant experience as an Operating Partner or senior executive in private equity-backed companies.
- Proven track record of driving operational improvements, scaling businesses, and delivering measurable results.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in P&L management, budgeting, and operational forecasting.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
- Experience in managing M&A processes, including operational due diligence and integration.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing executive teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support portfolio company operations and private equity engagements.
