PURPOSE:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Network Administrator to oversee and optimize our IT infrastructure while providing support for end-user systems. This role requires deep expertise in network management, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and IoT systems, along with strong technical support skills. The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience with large-scale deployments and an initiative-taking approach to troubleshooting and system optimization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Administration:
- Configure and maintain the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and security, implementing improvements as needed.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Microsoft Azure & Cloud Solutions:
- Manage and maintain cloud resources, ensuring security and scalability.
- Administer Azure Active Directory and related cloud services for streamlined business operations.
- Experience managing MS Exchange online, Intune, and MS Endpoint Configuration Manager.
Active Directory & Group Policy:
- Administer local Active Directory, managing user accounts, authentication, and directory services.
- Create and enforce Group Policies to secure and optimize system performance.
Virtualization & Servers:
- Deploy, configure, and manage virtual servers, ensuring high availability and resource efficiency.
- Maintain and optimize physical and virtual server environments through regular updates and performance tuning.
Helpdesk Support:
- Provide Tier 1/2/3 support for IT helpdesk escalations, addressing technical issues in a timely manner, collaborating with a team of 3.
- Assist end-users with troubleshooting Windows operating systems, software, hardware, and peripherals, including printers.
- Document and resolve recurring issues to improve system reliability.
Cybersecurity:
- Monitor and enforce security protocols, safeguarding network and systems from vulnerabilities.
- Configure and manage firewalls and other security tools to prevent unauthorized access.
Microsoft Windows Operating Systems:
- Manage and support Windows environments, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Assist with updates, migrations, and troubleshooting to optimize user experience.
IoT & Low Voltage Systems:
- Integrate and manage IoT devices within the network, ensuring functionality and reliability, tablets (iOS & Android), sensors, etc.
- Collaborate with teams on low-voltage systems, addressing troubleshooting and maintenance needs.
Printers & Peripheral Devices:
- Configure and maintain printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Resolve connectivity and performance issues for a seamless user experience.
Deployments:
- Lead or assist in large-scale IT deployments, ensuring efficient implementation.
DNS & Domain Management:
- Manage DNS, certificates, and domain configurations to ensure consistent and reliable operations.
Other as determined by the IT Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience as a Senior Network/Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP (LAN/WAN), DNS, virtualization, VPNs, and network security protocols.
- Experience in troubleshooting and supporting printers and other peripheral devices.
- Familiarity with IoT devices, low-voltage systems, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft M365, Dell servers and workstations, Microsoft Teams, label printing and barcoding.
- Previous experience with large deployments and ERP migrations a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+) preferred. Experience may replace.
