About Us
Reframe Systems is on a mission to build net-zero carbon housing for all, at massive scale. To achieve our mission, we need to make net-zero carbon housing more affordable and we are re-imagining how housing is designed and built. Our modular building platform and highly-automated production system will drive down cost, delivery time, and embodied carbon for ADUs and multifamily housing. We are setting up our first software driven factory in the greater Boston area (Andover, MA), and have a roadmap to scale our presence nationally. We are innovating on assembly line manufacturing for housing production and are backed by leading VC firms in the industrial and construction space.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and build full-stack applications that support our manufacturing operations. This is an opportunity to develop and deploy systems from cloud-native services and data pipelines all the way through IoT devices and user interfaces. The ideal candidate has a knack for teasing out product requirements in a fast-paced start-up environment and develop scalable backend solutions. This is a unique opportunity to drive the future of software defined manufacturing for industrialized construction.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack production code. Drive decisions, lead development, and maintain software applications that support the manufacturing and operations teams.
Build data collection pipelines, perform analysis, and create mission critical dashboards that directly influence operations and business development teams.
Collaborate with highly interdisciplinary teams to digitize and optimize manufacturing processes and build our CAD to Fab pipeline.
Validate hypotheses through data-driven experimentation and prototyping. Document, summarize, and advocate findings to peers. Execute on new ideas, carrying them from proof-of-concept to operations. Prototype features quickly, and harden them over time into production-capable software.
Rapidly learn and assess new technologies, software, and methods.
Shape a culture of innovation, quality, and mentorship within the quickly growing technology group.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to ship code to customers at scale under aggressive timelines
Experience in managing stakeholders - users, customers, technical leaders, and senior management to collect requirements, describe system designs, and set product strategy
Excellent full-stack software development skills in modern programming languages (Python, C++, Typescript, etc.), databases, containerized frameworks and cloud services (EC2, Lambda etc).
Knowledge of cloud native architecture, with a particular focus on data centric applications (experience with GraphQL is a plus)
Proficiency in professional engineering best practices; code reviews, code standards, source management, CI/CD, testing, and full software life cycle.
Strong communication skills, ability to work well in a team environment.
Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently.
Bonus
Experience in delivering software systems that orchestrate workflows across software + human + machine systems such as automated factories and modern e-commerce fulfillment centers.
Experience with discrete simulation of large systems and sim-to-real design patterns.
Experience with designing and delivering large scale data pipelines, integrating with BI tools (Tableau, Grafana, etc), and developing analytics tools.
Worked with or led implementation of a PLM, ERP, or MES system.
