Cloud services at Base are core to our mission and success. Our services command a distributed fleet of energy systems, manage electricity service for homes across Texas, and accelerate our deployment operations through automation and modern tooling. As a software engineer on this team, you’ll be responsible for designing and building robust software systems to manage, monitor, and control the heart of Base.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust cloud services and infrastructure (mostly golang)
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality, reliable software and a world-class engineering culture
- Work closely with teams across Base to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements in our cloud systems
- Develop and enhance tools, services, and processes that boost the productivity of engineering teams
- Architecture for real time trading
- Platform to iterate and deploy trading algorithms
- Tooling and monitoring for fleet operations
- Integration with market data
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- First principles approach to software engineering
- 5+ years experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance cloud services
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including version control, code reviews, testing, and code quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and time series databases
- Hands-on experience with scaling cloud services using modern cloud technologies
