Position Description:
Fund Runner is an End of Life vendor application. Various critical Business Functions rely on Fund Runner: Investment Evaluation, Trade Booking, External Client Reporting, Front Office, Operations and Finance Reporting, Data Management, Front Office Analytics etc. AIP Business plans to completely decommission Fund Runner in next few years as vendor has stopped official support for the platform.
Fund Runner's frontend (developed in VB6) has been unstable and is considered as a major business risk because it uses end of life technology with no official support from Microsoft or vendor and business relies on it heavily to ingest data in FRPROD for critical business functions mentioned above. Also, the current frontend is not able to handle the increasing volume of data and the performance of the application has slowed down.
There is no alternative way to ingest data in Fund Runner if the front-end stops working as a result of a windows / system upgrade for example.
To address this risk in near term, we plan to implement a disaster recovery solution that would allow business to ingest data in FRPROD in backend so that critical business functions are not impacted in case frontend is not able to take the load or stops working at all.
We are looking to hire two consultants in west con to implement this solution over the course of next 6-9 months. We are looking to hire in west con as we need these developers to co-locate with front office for higher efficiency and to be able to fill these positions sooner given the slowdown in hiring in India after covid.
Technology Skills:
· Strong development experience (5+ years) in Core Java (1.8 and above) and Spring framework.
· Prior experience with Devops and Test Automation.
· Strong knowledge of SQLs and writing optimized queries/stored procedures with any relational database
· · Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
· Working knowledge of Python will be a plus
· Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
