Our Client a global leader in legal services, is seeking an associate with at least 3 years of experience to join our market-leading Copyright practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the top legal minds in the field, advising clients at the forefront of technology and media innovation.
The Copyright team handles a wide array of high-profile matters, representing clients ranging from emerging startups to some of the world’s largest technology companies. As an associate, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and dynamic issues, including:
- Providing strategic counsel to technology, media, and entertainment clients on copyright matters.
- Litigating landmark music-industry disputes and infringement claims.
- Working on groundbreaking legal cases involving the intersection of copyright law and emerging technologies, such as generative AI.
You will collaborate with partners, associates, and clients to navigate the evolving legal landscape, particularly as it pertains to digital content, intellectual property rights, and cutting-edge technological advancements.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on a wide range of copyright matters, including copyright protection, licensing, and enforcement.
- Manage litigation matters from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for hearings and trials.
- Research and analyze complex copyright issues, with a particular focus on technology, media, and the arts.
- Draft and negotiate licensing agreements, settlements, and other copyright-related contracts.
- Stay current on legal developments, particularly in the realm of generative AI and other emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience practicing copyright law, with a focus on technology, media, or entertainment industries.
- Strong background in litigation and strategic counseling, ideally with experience handling high-stakes matters.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for copyright law, technology, and the evolving legal landscape.
