The Information Technology Department is creating an eligibility list for the role of Network Administrator I/II. The network administrator plays a key role in supporting both City staff and the community by ensuring that the network on which the City’s governmental operations, public safety, and utility industries relies stays up-to-date and running smoothly.

We are looking for someone to

Install, configure, evaluate, and maintain network equipment, operating systems, and software while also providing customer and Help Desk training for these within the scope of network operations.
Monitor new technologies in support of various systems currently in operation.
Maintain an inventory of network equipment, data-communication equipment, and network software versions.
Assist in providing customer and Help Desk training for equipment and software within the scope of network operations.
Plan, assign, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level personnel.

Qualifications we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related degree, or an equivalent combination of college, certifications, and work experience.
Three to five years of experience working with networks and personal computers, one year of which was in a lead capacity.
Advanced knowledge of network and personal computer operations, terminals, printers, communications equipment, networks, network operating systems, and peripheral equipment.
Excellent communication skills with the public and employees
Effective and cooperative team leader with the ability to oversee the work of others
Ability to configure and troubleshoot network hardware, communication equipment, operating systems, and personal computer and peripheral equipment.
