The Information Technology Department is creating an eligibility list for the role of Network Administrator I/II. The network administrator plays a key role in supporting both City staff and the community by ensuring that the network on which the City’s governmental operations, public safety, and utility industries relies stays up-to-date and running smoothly.

We are looking for someone to
- Install, configure, evaluate, and maintain network equipment, operating systems, and software while also providing customer and Help Desk training for these within the scope of network operations.
- Monitor new technologies in support of various systems currently in operation.
- Maintain an inventory of network equipment, data-communication equipment, and network software versions.
- Assist in providing customer and Help Desk training for equipment and software within the scope of network operations.
- Plan, assign, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level personnel.
Qualifications we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related degree, or an equivalent combination of college, certifications, and work experience.
- Three to five years of experience working with networks and personal computers, one year of which was in a lead capacity.
- Advanced knowledge of network and personal computer operations, terminals, printers, communications equipment, networks, network operating systems, and peripheral equipment.
- Excellent communication skills with the public and employees
- Effective and cooperative team leader with the ability to oversee the work of others
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot network hardware, communication equipment, operating systems, and personal computer and peripheral equipment.
