Director - Risk Management (Quality, Patient Safely, PI, Compliance)
Natchez Trace Youth Academy, a Universal Health Services, Inc. company, in partnership with KidLink Community Services, has a long history in providing comprehensive behavioral health care services to at-risk youth struggling with extensive mental health issues. Our facility is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, which recognizes a commitment to measuring quality and standards of care. KidLink Community Services recruits foster parents and offers the training to be equipped to provide a safe, stable and therapeutic environment for children and youth that have been removed from their homes. Our training prepares staff and foster parents to support children and youth as they begin the healing process. Our therapeutic foster parents link children and youth to hope, healing and trust.
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the oversight of risk management, quality improvements, PI, and patient safety which involves 25 to 30 employees and growth potential with over 150 patients. This position will use data-driven insights to continuously improve policies, procedures, and training standards and provide strategic, operational and tactical direction to stakeholders regarding risk occurrences including standard operating procedures, mitigation strategies and recommendations to management.
This position is responsible for regulatory preparedness, and compliance through the collaboration with regulatory and Accreditation teams to ensure compliance with CARF, DCS, and other applicable standards. This position will be responsible for delivering strategies to improve programs and balance stakeholder deliverables and the creation and implementation of processes for key clinical indicators to ensure compliance with UHS requirements and federal and state laws.
The qualified candidate must be able to identify risk occurrences, develop specific mitigation strategies and lead the strategies to ensure tactical management of identified risks.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages various corporate, hospital and external data collection. Analyzes data collection and develop comprehensive reports that identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement. Uses data-driven insights to continuously improve policies, procedures, and training standards.
- Build and maintain program performance and compliance metrics and provide written compliance narratives for compliance and business leaders to support continuous improvement and planning. Acts as compliance officer responsible for the administration of all compliance policies and procedures. Conducts investigations and follow-up with assigned events. Serves as a liaison to the corporate office on quality, risk, patient safety and compliance matters. Assists internal counsel in obtaining requested information.
- Monitors case management documentation and conducts monthly audits to ensure compliance. Provides recommendations and feedback to managers to improve the quality of case management documentation.
- Collaborates with regulatory and Accreditation teams to ensure compliance with CARF, DCS, and other applicable standards.
- Develops and promotes a culture of safety where operations are seamlessly integrated into patient care processes, emphasizing empathy, respect, and professionalism.
- Collaborates with managers and staff on performance improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance and safety programs.
- Provides education and understanding of this role to new and current employees.
- Participates in committees and projects which support the ongoing improvements of the foster care program.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Social Work or related field. Master's preferred
- Five to 8 years' related experience required, eight to ten years perferred
- Valid state Driver's License with appropriate endorsement.
- Automobile insurance with verification of medical liability.
