Position Summary: The Head of Digital Transformation and Product will oversee and organize all aspects of digital work execution, customer engagement, and strategic goal setting. This individual will serve as the key interface between the digital and business teams at Quantum and its portfolio companies. Key responsibilities include setting customer engagement strategies, product management strategies, value and workflow targets, and defining release cycles executed with high software engineering discipline.
The Head of Digital Transformation and Product reports to the Chief Technology Officer and works closely with the Head of Engineering, Data Science, IT Operations, and Chief Architect.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Engagement & Strategy: Define customer engagement and execution strategies aligned with key digital transformation goals.
Chair customer engagement councils such as the Digital Leadership Team, AI Steering Committee, and AI Working Group.
Define key workflow transformation and business value goals in collaboration with the business. Identify key business sponsors and ensure high engagement and ownership. Act as a liaison and change agent for Quantum’s digital transformation. Build key relationships with the business and portfolio companies to overcome change management hurdles and realize business success.
Leverage your external network to drive product and industry direction for the Quantum Energy Cloud. Benchmark and calibrate Quantum’s efforts against the competition to ensure maximum long-term business success.
Product Management & Software Development:
Establish the company’s product management and software release management discipline, including product definition, value targets, use case management, release cycles, quality, and security engineering.
Define the agile execution model and provide oversight on program increment planning,
sprint execution, retrospectives, and business value realization.
Ensure a target architecture is set and architecture runways and gates are passed with high engineering discipline.
Execute the overall software roadmap.
Collaborate with the Chief Architect to establish QEP’s Engineering Standards. Roles & Responsibilities:
Establish roles and responsibilities with business sponsors and product owners. Iterate frequently between business requirements and product realization.
Build and maintain strong relationships within the QEP portfolio companies at the executive and technical levels, becoming a trusted partner for digital input.
Financial & Vendor Management:
Support budget creation, stewardship reporting, and budget vs. actual reporting.
Provide product-level ROI definitions and reporting.
Work closely with key third-party vendors to ensure Quantum’s success.
Manage Quantum’s BCP, SLA, and OLAs. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work with other QEP team members to monitor upstream and midstream PC operational performance, identify key technical insights/concerns, and make recommendations for performance improvement.
Collaborate with other technical members of Quantum to maintain and improve technical capabilities, recommending tools, workflows, and technologies to improve quality and efficiency.
Participate in high-quality technical conferences, professional societies, and technical
consortiums to expand Quantum’s brand within the technical community. Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Master’s or MBA desirable. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of product management and release management experience.
Prior experience with SaaS tools and the energy industry is a plus.
Experience with larger software development projects (40+ FTEs).
Prior experience managing decentralized and offshore teams is a must
Prior financial and/or private equity knowledge is a plus.
Proven track record in entrepreneurial environments. Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in software release and quality management.
Strong familiarity with agile software delivery; prior experience with ADO is a plus.
Strong familiarity with cloud and SaaS deployments and configuration; knowledge of Microsoft Azure is a plus.
Strong domain knowledge of upstream digital transformation use cases.
Knowledge of standard software packages is a plus.
Critical thinker with extensive IT experience in building and deploying large-scale digital platforms.
Experience dealing with varied data sets for larger organizations to solve real-world
