We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Analyst to join our Enterprise Analytics team. This pivotal role will report directly to the Director of Enterprise Analytics and will be instrumental in driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate in this role will be a hands on analytics leader who has a track record of building strong trusted partnerships with senior leadership in a company to execute on complex cross functional data initiatives. Ideally they will be familiar with at least 3 of the following 5 functions - Finance, GTM, Analytics, Product and Marketing. Additionally, this person will have a strong executive presence as a core part of the role is briefing New Relic’s CXO with operational insights and analysis and make well informed, data driven recommendations to positively impact the business.
What You'll Do
- Operational Deep Dives: Tackle complex business questions where the data and insights lie across several organizations. You will collaborate with data scientists on the team to synthesize complex statistical analysis into digestible executable insights.
- Use data and your statistical background to crystallize insights
- The type of questions the person would tackle are “What type of customers do well with New Relic in the long term?”, “Why did the North Star metric drop by X% in a month? Is this a one off or part of a long term trend”. “What are key drivers of positive sentiment and negative sentiment in the customer base”.
- CXO Operational Reporting: Work with Director of Enterprise Analytics to lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive operational reports for C-level executives. Present operational report to CXO on a regular basis.
- North Star Metric Development, Reporting and Analysis: Own the reporting and analysis of company Northstar metric. At times this may involve detecting issues in the metric and triage them with Data Engineering/Finance.
- Data Asset and Capability Development: Spearhead projects to build new data assets and capabilities (e.g., cohort tooling, anomaly detection products). This will involve, identifying the need for a specific tool, writing the PRD and engaging with Data Engineering to build the tool.
This role requires
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering); Master's degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, business intelligence or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
- Familiarity with statistical concepts, including model evaluation metrics, forecasting methodologies, and confidence intervals
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, particularly for C-level audiences
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Technical consulting background preferred
Bonus points if you have
- Prior management or technical lead experience
- Prior background in observability space
The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.

Estimated Base Pay Range
$157,000—$196,000 USD
