Leidos is seeking a Windows System Administrator for a position as part of a team supporting the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) in Pensacola, FL.
This is a full time position that must work in Pensacola, FL. No full time telework is allowed.
Leidos is seeking an experienced System Administrator in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Cyber Situational Awareness (UCSA) program in Pensacola, FL. The position is primarily responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and recovery of mission critical enterprise Windows systems and resolving issues affecting related IT systems supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
Primary Responsibilities
- Build, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer workstations, servers and IT related peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.).
- Manage and maintain both physical and virtual Windows infrastructures including domain controllers, file print servers, Exchange email service (SMTP) and share drives.
- Perform various system administration tasks including Active Directory management and the creation and maintenance of Group Policies, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) and user/service accounts.
- Validate current security posture and perform configuration changes as required or directed by higher authority.
- Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical problems/issues
- Leverage Group Policy Objects, Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool and Security Technical Information Guides (STIGs) to maintain required infrastructure security levels and system hardening.
- Install and configure software, firmware, upgrades and security updates/patches to maintain and secure Windows 10, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016 and Server 2019 operating systems and associated hardware.
- Monitor system performance to support capacity planning and maintain systems in accordance with established requirements and best practices.
- Utilize system error logs, user-reported errors and diagnostics scans to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems.
- Document and prioritize problems and developing viable resolutions to maintain operational readiness.
- Create and maintain detailed technical and system design documentation for infrastructure library.
- Assist in planning and implementing new hardware/software upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Provide support to Windows engineers for architecture design analysis for technology refresh planning and implementation and, evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problem identification and resolution.
- Support examination, testing and deployment of operating systems, and software patches/updates.
- Provide recommendations to onsite leads on techniques to enforce compliance with the information system security procedures for the control of information.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline and 3 years experience. Can be waived if approved by the Prime.
- 3-5 years experience in support of Microsoft Windows desktops and servers (e.g. Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
- Must be a US Citizen, Secret clearance required
- A DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved certification (CompTIA Security+)
- Cybersecurity knowledge and Windows server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 administration experience.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Knowledgeable and experience in implementation of application of STIGs to secure Windows operating systems, services and applications.
- Experience deploying Windows workstations/servers and migrating end-user data.
- Experience with operating system cloning applications and techniques.
- Knowledge of operating system concepts and implementations.
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. ser and computer objects administration, Group Policy, etc.).
- Understanding of network services as related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience performing analysis and security scans of operating systems and application packages utilizing SCAP and STIG Viewer tools.
- Experience with supporting desktop workstation hardware, physical and virtual servers and peripherals.
- Experience with an IT incident/service request system.
- Strong customer interaction skills with users of all levels.
- Effective written and interpersonal communication.
- Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following: Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVMs), etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating PowerShell scripts
- VMware vCenter and VMware ESXi experience
- Familiarity with or working knowledge of RedHat Systems Administration
- Experience with Agile work management applications, such as JIRA, that facilitates collaboration, organizes workflows and increases synergy across all teams within an IT production environment
- AWS Certified Practitioner certification

Pay Range
Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
