Hixardt Technologies, INC (Hixardt) is a Cloud Managed Service Provider developing and offering an array of Cloud Services such as virtualized Desktop, Server, and Application as a service from our data center network that we own or operate. Hixardt is currently seeking highly motivated individuals that enjoy working hard in a very demanding environment to provide systems administration and engineering services for our customers as part of our MSP practice and for Hixardt in support of the systems that deliver our private cloud services.
The systems administrator primarily supports server operating systems such as Windows and Linux Servers, as well as the applications that run on them (Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, ERP, Customer specific applications, and Hixardt Cloud Applications, as well as the services that run (file, print, DHCP, IIS, FTP Active Directory, etc). These servers run as physical servers in multiple data centers, Hixardt’s private cloud, public clouds such as Azure, and AWS. This is a key position for Hixardt as you must know server operating systems, applications, and services, and be able to administer them from onsite, remote, and virtual environments. So understanding the hardware environment (Dell, Storage Area Networks (SAN), HP, physical and virtual switching and VLANs) and application environment (VMWare, Horizon View, Vshield, Citrix, and Veeam) is required in able to be able to do this job.

Position Purpose
The Systems Administrator II provides advanced support for issues escalated from the tier I end user desktop team for the resolution of issues related from our services. If not the IT position there is also a tier II position. This position is mainly the management of the server environment and applications that the end users use. Working knowledge of providing these services from a VMware environment to Horizon View Desktops is required. Virtualization requires an understanding of firewall, routing, and switching and what is needed to deliver the server services to the desktops or mobile devices.
It is in-depth management for problems related to security, routing, switching, virtualization, hardware, software and applications. Candidate will be responsible for resolution of problems from Tier I personnel and escalation of problems to Tier III personnel in accordance with company policy and procedures, supporting the efforts of Professional Services, and Managed Services engineers for design, configuration, and turn up of new services being delivered to our customers, as well as working to ensure corporate and customer infrastructure and applications are performing in a way that maximizes uptime and reliability.
This job requires a 2-4 years experienced professional with the ability to solve advanced technical problems as the team will be looking to you for the answers. Candidate should feel very comfortable working in Small Midsize Business, Large Business, and Federal Government environments.
Daily Activities
- On a daily basis candidate will be the focal point for tier 1 resolution of problems focusing on Microsoft exchange, DNS, Active Directory, IIS, FTP, Horizon View, Windows and Linux server operating systems, and VMWare virtualization.
- Candidate will be required to manage vCenter, and vSphere to configure desktop, server, and vSwitch configurations for customers onboarding on the Hixardt network. We work primarily in a virtual world.
- Candidate will be required to configure iSCSI targets and manage Storage Area Network devices for Dell and EMC hardware.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the Administration of Windows Server 2012 through 2022. This includes application, security, patch management, and monitoring of Server resources to identify and correct issues before they become a problem.
- Responsible for Server and M365 Cloud environment backup, replication, failover, and recovery. You will be the go-to person for complex configuration decisions and the primary reference on how to plan, design, implement, and operate systems based on leading server hardware, storage, security, and virtualization products.
- Be able to travel to provide consulting services to meet Hixardt obligations.
- Assist in overseeing outsourced technical work and be involved in engaging potential strategic partners and third-party vendors.
- Adhere to a change and configurations control process per the direction of the company’s executive management.
- Systems Build Engineer and manage Configuration Control of entire internal server network, customer data center and customer premise equipment under contract support.
- Work closely with engineer team in the development and management of a Test and Configuration laboratory
- Establish a professional relationship with the Engineer team to ensure change control processes are followed and technologies are implemented according to corporate policies.
- Assist in future software and systems scalability planning and mature Disaster Recovery processes and procedures.
- Analyze development requirements and prepare level of effort estimates.
Basic Qualifications
- Able to demonstrate understanding of VMWARE, Citrix, and Horizon View in a lab environment.
- Able to demonstrate understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies in a lab environment.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of Microsoft 365 Application Management to include Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Able to demonstrate efficiency with management of SAN Storage Solutions
- Proficient in the following: Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hosting Services, Virtualization, SAN and NAS technologies, Exchange On-premises and Online, Windows Terminal Services, Ghost and other Imaging technologies, familiar with Volume management
- Experience with Web Services (IIS, SMTP, DNS)
- Experience with enterprise architecture technology designs, configuration management (UML, Use Case, Source and Revision control, builds, and defect tracking)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead junior and mid-level career technicians.
- Current hands-on experience in a technical role
Requirements: (These are mandatory)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
Required Certifications and Experience: MCSA (old Cert), MCA - Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate , or CompTIA Server+
Experience:
Typically has 2-4 Years progressively responsible position as a systems administrator managing Windows and Linux Servers.
Security Clearance:
Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance of secret or better.
