What You’ll Do
As Network Technician you’ll play a key role in maintaining and expanding the college’s IT network infrastructure.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:
Configure and maintain the college's internal data network using best practices and industry standards for both wired and wireless infrastructure.
Assess, suggest, and oversee network security tools such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and filtering systems for effective management and protection of the network.
Pinpoint, resolve, and document network connectivity and performance issues by identifying, troubleshooting, and implementing effective solutions.
Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain the network and hardware, for example, Cisco routers and switches.
Collaborate with other areas of Information Technology to deploy, configure and upgrade network software, such as, enterprise antivirus or diagnostics programs.
Define network policies, procedures, and maintain proper documentation of network design and cabling infrastructure.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
High school diploma or it’s equivalent. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and may substitute for four years of experience.
Seven (7) years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Bonus points if you have:
The ability to work 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday - Occasional maintenance windows require work to be completed after hours to minimize the disruption of services. This position may be eligible for limited remote work.
Preference given to candidates who hold network certificates such as; CompTIA’s Network +, Cisco CCENT, and Cisco CCNA.
