POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Junior System Administrator will assist in maintaining and troubleshooting US Urology’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundational understanding of IT systems and a willingness to learn and grow in the field of IT Infrastructure.
As a Junior System Administrator, you will collaborate closely with senior team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, including handling hardware and software installations, network management, and system security. Key areas of focus for this position include maintaining network performance, providing third-level support for hardware and software issues, ensuring system security, and assisting with ongoing upgrades and updates to IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Provide support for network systems including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
- Assist in the maintenance of backups, recovery plans, and security protocols.
- Assist service desk team members with user issue escalations related to hardware, software, and network problems.
- Assist with software and hardware updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and system operations.
- Update user guides and technical documentation for company systems.
- Help implement security measures including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative troubleshooting efforts.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.
- 2 years (minimum) of experience in a similar IT Infrastructure or support role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking, and system security.
- Familiarity with Office 365 & Entra system administration tools and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and firewall management
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move computer hardware and other IT equipment (up to 50 lbs).
