GXM is seeking a highly driven Systems Engineer III to join our technical team. Our team is looking to welcome an experienced technical professional to work in support of GXM projects for government clients in the Fort Meade, MD (and possibly Quantico) area and in support of company-level efforts across project teams.
The Systems Engineer III focuses on DoD 5000.02 artifacts and documentation to perform requirements analysis, including decomposition of high-level requirements into artifacts assignable during Agile program increments and sprints. They apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems lifecycle phases: concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement. They interact with ICON project teams regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. They communicate with other Technical Direction Plan (TDL) project personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives. They are responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288, to include: Technical Process Area, Enterprise Process Area, and Agreement Process Area. They contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, such as Systems Engineering Plans, initial capability documents, requirements specifications, and interface control documents. The Systems Engineer III is a senior role with extensive experience ensuring regulatory and requirements compliance of IT systems. The Systems Engineer III supervises and mentors subordinate project and Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff. They actively engage and share work with other Systems Engineer Ills. They receive direction from Systems Engineer IV.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer, setup, and manage on-premise and cloud systems, ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and CMMI controls and standards.
- Manage systems within the accreditation boundary, including Office 365, Active Directory, Jira, Bitbucket, VPN, firewalls, and network switches.
- Maintain adherence to compliance standards through scanning, patching, auditing, and documentation.
- Develop future technical roadmaps and explore new technologies.
- Review all technical procurements for compliance with company and government contract policies.
Required:
- Must be US Citizen
- TS/SCI Required, Poly desired
- BA/BS
- Minimum 9 years of experience in enterprise IT support services and/or Systems Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving, customer engagement, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated security practices, including using tools like Microsoft Defender.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Go.
- Critical thinking and self-education skills, with independent research capabilities.
- Strong customer engagement skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Highly Desirable:
- Proficiency in Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket).
- Relevant certifications, including: IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP).
- Relevant Cloud Certifications such as (Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
- Other Industry Certifications (CISSP, CISM, PMP, MCSE, RHCE, VCP).
- Knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with CMMI, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards.
