We are seeking a Network Engineer 1 to be responsible for networking, including telephony, VoIP, and videoconferencing (VTC), across the headquarters building and field sites. The candidate should have experience with support of large-scale efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of data networks. In addition to experience with common network devices (switches, routers, patch panels, etc.), the candidate will also have experience with videoconferencing (VTC) endpoints, core VTC equipment, VoIP implementation, and telephony. Specific products used in this role are Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Meeting Server. The LCAT requires 5 years of experience as a network engineer in similar programs. Bachelors' degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college is required. Five years of network engineering experience may be substituted for a degree.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities
- Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
- Analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
- Monitor network and telecommunications systems performance and respond to anomalies and issues according to defined procedures.
- Assist in deployment of VoIP, Video teleconference (VTC), and plain-old telephone systems (POTS).
- Interface and communicate with network operations centers of external providers as needed.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP, and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers.
- Communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.
- Install and configure new network and telecommunications systems hardware and software.
- Create and maintain network telecommunications systems diagrams and configuration documentation.
- Must have Network+ or CCNA cert.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
- Five (5) years experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) additional years of experience in Network Engineering disciplines may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Shall possess the following: Network+ or; CCNA Routing & Switching or; CCNA Security or; CCNA Video or; CCNA Voice. Contractor must obtain certification prior to being accepted on contract.

Pay Range: $48.57 - $79.48 per hour*

Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
