Overview of the Network Engineer:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining BetaNXT’s network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability and integrity of data and wireless network services. The Network Engineer will also troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze network traffic, and provide solutions to enhance network performance.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:
- Maintaining networks including Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortigate, and Palo Alto), VPNs (Cisco and Fortigate), routers (Cisco), switches (Cisco and Arista) and other physical hardware
- Installing and configuring network equipment.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Participate in on-call duties during weekends at least once a month or as required to ensure network integrity.
Skills and Experience of the Network Engineer:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer
- Extensive proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting advanced network equipment and protocols.
- Proven hands-on experience in designing, deploying and managing network infrastructure within the AWS Cloud Environment.
- A working knowledge of applications such as Wire Shark, Visio/Lucid, and ticketing systems (SNOW/JIRA/Remedy) is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to function effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated motivation and proactive approach in problem-solving and network management.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, ensuring the continuous performance of a high-speed financial network.
