The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for recommending and implementing changes and improvements to support our corporate infrastructure across on-premises and cloud computing environments. This role involves developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, communications, and telecommunications systems. Additionally, the IT Systems Administrator provides rapid responses and immediate solutions for critical issues to minimize disruptions to business continuity.
This role requires advanced problem-solving skills, effective communication through multiple mediums (phone, email, etc.), and a high level of patience and empathy for all types of users. The IT Systems Administrator must be self-directed, proactive, and passionate about using technology to solve business problems. This position involves close collaboration with IT/non-IT peers, vendors, and cross-functional organization leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Documentation & Design:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Networking:
• Design, implement, and manage enterprise network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
Project Management:
• Collaborate with the IT Director to manage medium and large-scale information systems projects, consulting with management on system needs, design, and operations.
• Participate in long-range IT planning and budgeting for systems.
Security & Performance:
• With the IT Director, identify all business risk factors, then document and develop a roadmap for mitigation when necessary.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Monitor and maintain the performance, capacity, and availability of organization-wide computer systems.
• Maintain security policies and permissions for SaaS applications throughout the org. Ensure compliance with security standards.
Storage & Integration:
• Manage storage provisioning and DLP across cloud environments through Spin.ai
• Integrate and manage hybrid network environments, combining on-premises and cloud resources.
Support & Leadership:
• Manage the IT environment in the IT Director’s absence.
• Act as Tier 2+ support for helpdesk functions.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Experience:
*Note: Work experience should showcase progressive responsibility and skills development.
• Minimum of four years in network and system administration within a Windows Server environment.
• Two or more years of experience in cloud infrastructure and network administration.
• At least two years working in helpdesk support.
• Two or more years of experience with Google Workspace for Business and/or Microsoft O365/M365 administration.
• Two or more years of experience with VOIP phone systems, preferably Zoom Phone and Contact Center.
• Proficiency in Linux is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with JumpCloud, CrowdStrike, Confluence, and Azure.
Required Skills:
• Proficient in Google Workspace and O365/M365 administration.
• Skilled in managing Windows servers and equipment, including Windows Server 2022 and SQL Server 2019.
• At least 2 years of experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC).
• Experience and competency in configuring routers and switches.
• Proficient in PowerShell/bash scripting, automated deployment, and mass imaging.
• Varied and broad experience administering SaaS applications in an enterprise environment.
Preferred but not required:
• Management of Azure Data Factory Pipelines.
• Experience with administration through JumpCloud.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (PRTG, etc.).
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
• Google Workspace Administrator certification is desired, but not required.
• A+ certifications are a plus.
• CCNA or other networking certifications are a plus.
KEY SKILLS SET (COMPETENCIES)
• In-depth understanding of cloud computing.
• Knowledge of core networking.

• Experience with JumpCloud and/or Active Directory for policy deployment, software updates, and management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• None but there is potential to manage helpdesk resources as the position grows.
SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is primarily in-office for the first 90 days, with the potential for a hybrid work schedule thereafter. Please note that this is not a fully remote role.
Additionally, we are unable to provide relocation assistance for this position.
PAY RANGE
$45.68 to $50.49 per hour.
