Based in any of our US offices, the Senior System Engineer will support the firm in all areas related to infrastructure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using leading-edge technologies based on Microsoft, VMWARE, NetApp, Cisco, and Intel technologies. Our ideal candidate is an accomplished self-starter who shares our passion for technology.
This role reports to the IS Operations Infrastructure Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor system performance and capacity of infrastructure-related technologies.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with existing systems to identify and resolve problems.
- Designing, building, testing, and deploying new computer systems based on firm standards in our offices and data center locations.
- Maintaining and updating existing computer networks and adding new features as needed.
- Recommending new technologies that could improve efficiency or productivity within the organization.
- Coordinating with others for projects or maintenance involving multiple departments within the organization.
- Work closely with IS and others to understand their business needs and goals, and translate them into technical requirements when necessary.
- Coordinating with vendors to purchase new hardware or software products.
- Testing new or revised hardware and software solutions to ensure it performs as expected.
- Maintaining existing technology, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Develop and document processes and procedures to reduce the number of reoccurring system issues.
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in customer support and have the ability to secure customer cooperation under pressure conditions.
- Perform other IS-related duties as assigned.
- Support other non-IS projects and initiatives as needed.
- Ensure the department maintains technical skills in the Microsoft server technology area.
- Provide supporting documentation, reports, and other information to management.
- Participate in a week-long after-hours support escalation coverage rotation.
- Design, document, and Participate in Business Continuity Testing.
- Write technical documentation to help others understand our systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth knowledge of network, storage, and compute virtualization technologies
- Hardware, Microsoft Server OS, VMWARE, NetApp, Cisco, F5, APC, and more
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles, design, and configuration of Microsoft servers
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP, and WMI
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DFS, DHCP, and other network services, as well as GPOs
- Experience with CITRIX / XenApp server architecture, configuration, monitoring, and management
- Experience with Network printing, HP UPD, third-party integration with Equitrac Enterprise, and eCopy ShareScan.
- Experience with Power Shell scripting
- Experience with BCDR practices
- Experience with RSA and other MFA technologies
- Understanding ofMPLS and AVTS WAN technologies
- Project Management skills are a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel when needed
- Experience with certificates implementation and management
- Experience with anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-spam applications/implementation/support
- Working knowledge of network faxing
- Stong English oral and written communication skills are essential
- Experienced working with Change Control polices
- Familiar with ISO-27001 certification and documentation.
EXPERIENCE
- College degree in a related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences aligned to Systems architecture and engineering directives
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities, including project management skills, engineering remediation techniques, and project planning and implementation
- Certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a positive
- Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) Core Infrastructure or Productivity is a positive
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $145-155k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
