Overview: Senior Network Engineer
Heritage is looking for a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure, ensuring it meets the unique needs of a CCBHC environment. This includes supporting telehealth services, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and CCBHC certification standards. Remote or hybrid options will be considered.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Network Design and Deployment: Design, implement, and manage a robust network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, to support the operational needs of a CCBHC
- Security and Compliance: Ensure network security and compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and CCBHC-specific requirements. Implement best practices for protecting patient data and ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information
- Support Telehealth Services: Optimize network performance to support telehealth and remote care services, ensuring high availability and secure connectivity for patients and providers
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor network performance and security. Quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service delivery
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, healthcare providers, and external partners to integrate new technologies and ensure the network infrastructure supports current and future CCBHC services
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and security protocols. Ensure all network activities align with CCBHC operational standards and reporting requirements
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure network resilience and data integrity in case of an outage or cyber incident
- Mentorship and Leadership: Lead and mentor junior network engineers and IT staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on learning and development
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure effective support and integration of network solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong experience with network security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Wireshark)
- Experience in supporting telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Experience working in a CCBHC or similar behavioral health environment
- Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, including EHRs and telehealth platforms, specific to community behavioral health settings
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network management and optimization
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior role within a healthcare environment, preferably in a CCBHC or similar setting
- CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent certifications preferred. CISSP, HCISPP, or other healthcare security certifications are highly recommended
Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000 per year (dependent on education, experience and certification)
