Job Description
Systems Administrator
eScholar is seeking to fill the role of Systems Administrator. This position is responsible for daily management of the Infrastructure. This role will be responsible for supporting various projects that include infrastructure upgrades and implementation of new technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
·Manage operations and plan new build-outs and implementation initiatives
·Work with development teams to facilitate application initiatives
·Knowledge of technologies such as application and server virtualization, application hosting, server management, monitoring, Windows and Linux
·Skills to include troubleshooting server issues
·Knowledge and some experience with managed storage (NAS/SAN)
·Managing Active Directory with adding/terminating users; assigning rights and access; resetting passwords; establishing email addresses; performing backups and restores
·Ensuring technology documents/certificates such as product registrations, SSL certificates, maintenance agreements, service contracts related to technology operations or services are evaluated, updated and processed
·Conduct capacity planning to enable timely purchasing of IT resources and equipment
·Participate in strategic planning and development of operation plans for production and development environments
·Perform timely internal customer support with a professional attitude
·Research to identify effective new conferences/events.Analyze & summarize each event’s results and capture learning after event.
·Develop and execute marketing campaigns for the conferences and events (e.g. email, flyer, blog post, relevant social media posts for the events, etc.)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
·Recommended 2-3 years minimum experience in IT field
·Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks with accuracy and to meet demanding deadlines, possessing strong ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality
·Must be willing to work the occasional weekend and evenings, and to be on call as required from time to time
·Experience in hands on management of technology infrastructure consisting of Windows 2003/2008/2012, Active Directory, VMWare, Cisco routers/switches/Firewalls
·Must maintain a sincere, polite and respectful “customer service” attitude with all users you support
