VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for our Devens, MA (Hybrid) location.
Job Purpose
The Digital Organization at VulcanForms is responsible for the systems and services powering our AM solutions and manufacturing processes. As we expand, VulcanForms is establishing an SRE function to manage these systems. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be pivotal in leveraging modern SRE methodologies to enhance our digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance critical infrastructure with a focus on Linux system and network configurations, including:

- Production network and edge node configuration for VulcanForms’s printer cell and other equipment.

- Factory-level on-prem data center.
- Operate and manage services providing:

- PXE boot (Canonical MAAS)

- security/PKI services (Hashicorp Vault)

- container (Docker) orchestration (Nomad)
-
- service discovery and service mesh (Consul)
- Script, monitor, and optimize systems for high availability, performance, and security.
- Establishment and management of Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives (SLI/SLO)
- Proactively solve problems and initiate improvements in system reliability.
- Vendor management for infrastructure systems.
- Capex/Opex management and planning.
- This position has on-call responsibilities to manage critical infrastructure incidents.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Linux distributions, particularly Ubuntu.
- Proficient in Linux networking, including routing, firewall configurations (e.g., iptables, nftables).
- Deep knowledge of network services like DHCP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, SNMP, LDAP.
- Experience with PKI services, focusing on certificate management and key security.
- Management experience with storage solutions like NAS, Object/S3 (Dell ECS), NFS.
- Experience managing High Available systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system improvements.
