Job Role and Responsibilities:
Embark on an exciting journey with Broadcom as a Senior Member of Technical Staff within Application Networking And Security Division(ANS) Business Unit. You will be a part of the Avi Load Balancer team responsible for delivering innovative and performant solutions in Layer 7/Application Security domain.
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy and out-of-box thinker/resourceful engineer to help us deliver in this journey. This is an on-site role in Palo Alto, CA, USA, where you will be part of a larger geographically distributed team in Germany and India.
As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will:
- Deliver innovative features in Layer 7/Application Security domain.
- Solve complex problems and troubleshoot Layer 7/Application Security Data path.
- Improve the performance, throughput, component efficiency in Layer 7/Application Security domain.
- Evangelize and influence good software practices through design/peer code reviews/automated unit and functional tests.
- Engage with product teams to learn about existing challenges and customer success teams to field support calls.
- Mentor junior and other team members.
Qualifications:
Technical skills: C/C++ (Expert), Python (Intermediate), Go (Basic), Secure Coding, Data structures and Algorithms, network software development.
- Experience of working in Data path/Data Plane/Fast Path, Load Balancers, Application Proxies
- Domain knowledge: L2-L7 Networking, TCP/IP Stack, Excellent understanding of HTTP Protocol, HTTP/2, Quic, NGINX architecture, Web Application Firewalls (WAF) like ModSecurity.
- Education: BS in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of related work experience/MS in Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of related work experience/PHD in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of related work experience.
- Adaptability and Growth Mindset: Proactive, with a keen ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, always seeking to learn and improve.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience/Awareness in OpenSSL, Application Security, Tools such as Wireshark, gdb, valgrind / asan / ubsan, Linux “perf” / benchmarking for C/C++ is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $190,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
