Summary
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the IT systems across all sites. This includes desktop and mobile device provisioning and support, network and production system maintenance and troubleshooting, and is the primary point of user contact.
Principal Accountabilities
- Installation and Configuration: Setting up software, hardware, and network systems to ensure a seamless workflow within the organization.
- System Maintenance: Regularly updating systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal performance and access for users.
- Security Management: Protecting the IT infrastructure from cyber threats and ensuring the efficiency and integrity of data and systems.
- User Administration: Managing user access and permissions, providing technical support, and ensuring reliable use of IT systems by end-users.
- Documentation: Keeping detailed records of IT asset usage, system configurations, and user requests to support future planning and compliance.
- System Monitoring: Continuously observing system health to identify and address potential issues before they impact end-users.
- Technical Support: Offering solutions and changes in response to end-user needs while adhering to organizational policies.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Operations and Applications Management, including:
- Strong understanding of VMware virtualization products and storage technologies.
- Operating Systems Administration: Windows, Linux, Microsoft Active Directory, and Linux.
- Implementation and administration of network and servers (LAN, WAN).
- Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing.
- Endpoint and Security Management.
- ERP Administration: management of Production and Test environments, QA.
- Data Architecture, Replication and Backup Software: Database management.
- System installation, configuration, administration, and analysis (Oracle, SQL).
- Server administration: on premises, datacenter, and cloud.
- Infrastructure knowledge: switches, routers, firewalls, batteries, and Wi-Fi devices.
- Exposure or experience with any form of automation via tooling or scripting of the infrastructure, security, and configuration management layers.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent industry-specific certification. Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent are a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and telecommunications, including ability to solve problems and improve the efficiency of an organizations IT infrastructure, including:
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation compliance such as NIST and CMMC.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with a strong customer service focus.
- Record of accomplishment of delivering projects on time and without negative consequences to the business.
- Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to identify technology needs and implement solutions that meet business objectives.
- Strong knowledge of IT processes and project management techniques and tools with practical experience managing IT projects.
- Experience with information access control and configuration management tools.
- Experience with Microsoft 365; SharePoint infrastructure and administration, workflows, license management.
- Ability to collaborate with teams and employees working across multiple locations.
- Flexible hours and/or overtime required on occasion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis, critical thinking and attention to detail and quality.
- An internal customer and quality-focused approach.
- Experience with working with variety of IT vendors.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant environments & offices.
- This position requires occasional domestic travel (5-10%).
- Weeknight/weekend work may be required.
