We are looking to add a System Administrator to our IT team. This role will be worked from our Frisco, TX, corporate office, 3 days per week and 2 days from home.
The Systems Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house and cloud systems infrastructure. This includes planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all systems hardware, software, and communication links. This position will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems, in conjunction with the help desk support team. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing 24x7 systems support by remaining available during non-business hours for emergency support issues. This will be attained via an on-call rotation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and support Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, VMWare, Web servers and O365 platform
- Perform network administration including network design, implementation and troubleshooting
- Assist with management and support Microsoft Azure cloud environment
- Maintain and administer related hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, and peripherals; and manage licenses for all operating systems and related software
- Perform system backups and recovery
- Interact and negotiate with vendors and outsourcers to secure systems products and services
- Assist managing security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights, and provide users with systems technical support
- Assist with developing and implementing policies, procedures and training plans for systems resource administration and appropriate use
- Assists with planning, communication, testing, and implementation of disaster recovery procedures
- Analyze system utilization and offer suggestions for upgrades and improvements
- Perform audits on corporate infrastructure
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working technical knowledge of current systems hardware, protocols, and standards
- Experience managing an IP based systems consisting of multiple subnets and VLANs
- Working experience with MS Entra and Active Directory services
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure platform is a plus
- Basic Knowledge of DevOps tools is a plus
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Education & Experience
- Completed college degree is preferred
- 3+ years of related systems administration experience
- Certifications in systems or cloud technologies preferred
- Must have experience working closely with users and management
- Able to work under limited supervision and exercise independent judgment
- Proactive with the initiative to identify needs and offer solutions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Can lead projects through complex tasks
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt and learn new technologies
- Must possess a positive attitude and want to be part of a team environment
