Peraton is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Herndon, VA, but also supports telecommuting. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA’s customers.
As part of the modernization program, the Cloud Engineer will support related cloud migration activities, including designing and implementing cloud-based architectures that host containerized services and a modern analytic data science platform.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure-based solution architectures
- Define and establish secure cloud configurations for Azure PaaS and IaaS
- Develop and maintain solutions / scripts to support automation of cloud configuration and administration
- Support security audits, accreditation and certification processes, and obtaining approval to operate (ATO) for cloud-based system architectures
DOSCSM
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- At least 3 years’ experience implementing cloud-based architectures on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
- At least 1 year experience implementing cloud-based architectures on Microsoft Azure
- Experience using an infrastructure as code (IaC) provisioning framework (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Active Secret (or higher) clearance (interim acceptable)
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Terraform scripting
- PowerShell scripting
- Azure IAM services and components, including Azure Active Directory (AAD), AAD roles, Azure RBAC, and Conditional Access policies
- Agile / Scaled Agile
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
