Job Description Summary
The purpose of the Engineer II role is delivery of technology products that enable extraordinary experiences. They do so by transforming business needs into technology solutions, testing, addressing any failures, and implementing quality products. This role is expected to undertake moderate to complex work, with limited direct guidance.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain cloud infrastructure utilizing server virtualization and networking (50% of time)
- Promote system reliability and stability by functioning as eyes on for key monitoring and alerting platforms (15% of time)
- Self-direct through day-to-day functional processes with an eye towards continuous improvement and innovation (10% of time)
- Maintain high awareness of quality and performance, addressing failures as necessary, with a priority focus on live production environments (10% of time)
- Participate in on-call rotation (10% of time)
- Assist during maintenance window activities (5% of time)
Critical Skills & Experience Requirements
- Deploy, configure and administrate AWS and Azure infrastructure
- Assessing cloud resources for stability, efficiency and cost savings
- VMware virtualization platforms including vCenter, vSAN, Horizon
- Containerization including Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Enterprise experience with Windows, Linux, ThinOS
- Excellent troubleshooting in a enterprise environment
- Programming and scripting for automation
- Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Time management skills
- Relevant certifications: AWS, VMware, Microsoft (Preferred)
- 5+ Years of relevant enterprise experience with AWS and Azure (Required)
- 4+ Years of experience in VMware, Windows, and Linux environments (Required)
- This is a hybrid role based out of Dallas Texas and candidate must be able to work in US without sponsorship.
