General Job Summary:
The job roles for Acquisition System Engineer, Database Developer, and Cloud Architect demand a broad range of technical and non-technical skills. Professionals in these roles will work in an integrated, cross-functional team to support various activities such as acquisition and program management, database development, and multi-cloud architecture design. The job locations include Chantilly, VA.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree and at least ten years of experience
- Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, or Oracle Cloud, including associated tools like EC2, EBS, S3, etc.
- Experience with AI / ML Experience with large-scale data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
- Knowledge of web stack technologies, software design, Java programming, and associated frameworks.
- Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and tools such as SMS, Data Pipeline, and Relational Database (RDS).
- Familiarity with ElasticSearch and other big data technologies like MapReduce, Apache Spark, and Scala.
- Experience working within an Agile Scrum development methodology, DevOps environment, and utilizing tools such as GitHub, Subversion, Jenkins, Maven, or Artifactory.
- Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) paradigm.
- Skills in drafting acquisition artifacts like SOW, CDRL, In Scope Determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria.
- Knowledge of financial data sets and experience in ETLing commercial datasets as needed.
- Government program management, contracting, acquisition experience.
- Experience with non-traditional/non-FAR acquisition vehicles a plus (IDIQ, BAA, OT, CSO, etc.) Full Stack Development experience, including experience with Python, Django web applications, REACT web applications or other Javascript frameworks, RESTful API architecture, and incorporating machine learning models into web apps.
- Minimum 2 years of AWS platform experience is desirable. Expertise in system engineering principles, especially with a focus on satellite communication systems, optical and radio design, RF architectures, RF spectrum, and modern telecommunications architectures.
- Proven experience with acquisition planning, writing, reviewing, and supporting the composition and creation of acquisition documents.
- Strong technical writing, proofreading, and editing skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and balance between competing priorities.
- Strong communication and collaborations skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to articulate intent, frame requirements, and adjust workflow priorities without direct oversight is crucial.
- Good project management skills, including strategy design, roadmap planning, program management, and project development. This includes the ability to identify, define, and prioritize requirements, and implement associated action plans.
- Proficient in MS Office suite including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, and Visio. Familiarity with MS Access and other online team collaboration tools and knowledge management suites such as Confluence, HIVE is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop professional rapport with a broad cross-section of stakeholders.
- The ability to operate under broad intent independent of direct oversight and adapt well to change is essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of the customer's technology-focused directorate, mission strategic direction, subordinate components, general stakeholders, and organizational culture is important.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, ECR, ECS, EKS), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within CONUS (approximately 30-45 days per year) as needed.
- In addition, some roles may require the ability to create and edit simple websites in support of an acquisition process, or the willingness to learn such skills.
- Prior experience working with R&D institutions, policy arena at the IC level, and familiarity with customer operational planning, coordination, deconfliction, and methods are desirable qualifications.
Preferred but not Required:
- Relevant Cloud Certifications (Solutions Architect/DevOps/Security/ML). Experience with security accreditation process.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise software development efforts.
- Experience in debugging performance and technical issues.
- Experience in building and deploying systems on the Cloud, using CI/CD frameworks and Infrastructure automation.
