The Whole Life Engineering (WLE) Department is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to insure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. We have a need for a Reliability Engineer to join our WLE team. The candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter to perform WLE tasks in accordance with established procedures. The candidate will be an integral part of the WLE team as a Reliability Engineer supporting the RSS Programs and will reside onsite in Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.
The individual will conduct the following tasks, as necessary, in order to influence product reliability:
Collaborate on the development of technical solutions to complex reliability problems through active management of the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) system
Provide technical reliability support direction to cross discipline program personnel
Contribute to completion of technical tasks in a teaming environment Participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings to discuss details of failures and failure trending Represent Raytheon at customer meetings as applicable
Perform internal and external supplier interface to resolve reliability issues
Perform reliability analyses (de-rating/stress analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, reliability predictions) as applicable
Participate in trade study investigations
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years related experience
Experience tracking and reporting metrics
Experience in gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources
Experience working in a cross functional team/matrixed environment
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite
Ability to obtain a DoD SSBI Top Secret Clearance
U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of SAP/CMES
Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings
Ability to apply Reliability principles during production and sustainment program phases
Experience in failure modes and mechanisms
Proactive and effective in addressing reliability issues with the program design and production support teams
Ability to function well in a high-pressure multi-tasking environment
Experience in cross functional team environments, utilizing good technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives
Experience working in the DoD customer community (US Army, US Air Force, US Navy)
Required Education:
BS in Engineering, Science, Math or related technical field
This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
