Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for the management, support, and maintenance of the network infrastructure at Gridforce. They understand the different systems, software, and hardware that make up the network environment and plan for and support major upgrades and other major changes to the network. Manage the support of all the users of the network environment, especially the 24-hour control center.
Primary Duties
- Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks
- Provide ongoing 24/7 support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components
- Establish, measure, and define IT goals and maintain an IT roadmap
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network security, and IT infrastructure
- Work with the compliance department to ensure all required processes and procedures are followed
- Manage a team of 5-6 IT professionals to meet the technical needs of the company
Working Relationships
The IT Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and Information Systems at Gridforce and works directly with the director to support and maximize the infrastructure used by Gridforce’s Energy Management System and the related systems. Work closely with the compliance department to ensure NERC CIP compliance and the evidence needed to prove compliance. Manage members of the infrastructure team, both on the system side and on the network side.
Compensation
The initial compensation range is $136k-$157k depending on experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Three years of experience in a supervisory role
- Five years supporting a VMWare environment
- Five years supporting a network environment with CISCO devices
Specific Skills and Knowledge
- Five years of experience with VMware vCenter and Horizon View
- Five years of experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches
- Three years of experience supporting an environment with compliance requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Able to lift 40lbs
- This position works in an office environment and will require the ability to sit for long periods of time and handle long periods of screen time
- Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during normal business hours, but this position supports a 24 x 7 business so will be subject to calls in off hours during emergencies
- Will require some travel
