Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) by performing software activities focused on assisting the Air Force move forward with digital transformation. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. This project offers the ability to work in an office/remote hybrid format with a team of highly skilled engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
- Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
- Designs, implements, and integrates software applications or performs software engineering tasks
- Utilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development, integration, and production environment
- Ensures efficient delivery of software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes
- Mitigates risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated software projects
- Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
- Participate in DevSecOps processes and practice principles during all design phases
- Participates in developing and delivering training as requested by the government to support applications
- Analyze current in-use technology utilized and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly eligibility
- Security + Certification

Required Experience
- 12+ years experience writing, maintaining, debugging, and testing code
- Experience with RESTful web services
- Experience with server-side languages, preference toward Golang, NodeJS, and/or Python
- Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks, preference toward Angular and Vue
- Experience with version control software (e.g., Git)
- Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA
Desired Experience
- Experience with containerized deployment such as Docker
- Experience utilizing document store databases, such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch and MongoDB
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Argo CD and Jenkins
