The IT Systems Engineer I/II is a highly engaged mid-level hands-on technical position within the IT Enterprise Systems team reporting directly to the VP, IT.
We are seeking an experienced and proven individual that will be responsible for the architectural design, implementation, administration, security, elevated support, troubleshooting, and documentation of our Enterprise IT Environments and Systems including but not limited to; Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud, Infrastructure, Applications and Services, Mobile Workforce, Network, and Security.
The position ensures the delivery of exceptional quality design, implementation, security, and support to our internal and external customers and is responsible for continually improving and/or securing infrastructure and cloud environments, systems, technical processes, SLAs, monitoring and reporting. Thus, the proven individual will possess exceptional technical skills, attention to detail, deep understanding and knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Cloud Technologies, Enterprise IT best practices, Project Management and Leadership Methodologies.
The IT Systems Engineer I/II will collaborate closely with the VP, IT and team members to ensure timely and successful delivery of all initiatives and will provide a key role in assisting in planning and defining the strategic vision and roadmap of the IT Enterprise Systems team.
Additionally, the IT Systems Engineer I/II will be tasked with designing and implementing process improvements within all areas of IT. The proven individual will also lead and mentor other IT members to improve efficiency and technical aptitudes.
Primary Responsibility:
Assist, Lead, Manage, in the planning, architectural design, implementation, securing, troubleshooting, support, and documentation of:
- Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud projects and upgrades to existing Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud environments.
- Infrastructure projects and upgrades to existing Infrastructure environments.
- Enterprise Applications and upgrades to existing Enterprise Applications.
- Network/Security and Data Continuity projects and upgrades to existing Network/Security and Data Continuity systems.
- Manage and maintain the multiple enterprise virtualization and cloud/hybrid-cloud environments, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and optimization, capacity reclamation, high availability, fault tolerance, hardening, securing, and continuity planning.
- Collaborate closely with peers and the IT leadership to improve efficiencies and implement and promote positive change to existing processes and technologies.
- Lead and coach the System Engineers to improve efficiency and technical aptitudes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance, improve, and use new ideas and technologies within the environment.
- Troubleshoot intricate cloud/hybrid-cloud, infrastructure, system, application, and network/security issues in a 24/7, mission critical network environment.
- Provide enterprise-wide elevated technology consulting and mentoring to internal teams and external customers.
- Provide enterprise-wide elevated technical support by taking the lead on system and infrastructure issues.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis, and postmortem reports to identify and avoid future issues.
- Monitoring and tracking of scheduled system maintenance activities with applicable tools analyzing the duration and potential impact to customers and ensuring consistency with approved times for activities.
- Issue logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management.
- Maintain records and provide reports on downtime, changes, and updates.
- Prepare, construct, and deliver formal and informal presentations to illustrate ideas, solutions, and issues.
- Creating and documenting policies & procedures, end-user documentation, installation instructions, system design documents, system & script documentation, test plans, and other relevant documentation.
- Assist in maintaining and administering software and hardware inventories.
- Assist in enterprise licensing negotiations, procurements, and management.
