This leadership position will be responsible for ensuring IT Application, Infrastructure, and Cloud Operations are designed and managed in a secure and automated fashion. This leader will oversee and direct all aspects of IT cloud operations and ensure our AWS-centric environment is run with a DevOps mindset.
This role requires a mix of broad business and technical acumen with strong people management skills, the ability to inspire and influence decisions around cloud-based infrastructure, and a polished ability to communicate with key internal stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mentor and train direct reports and coworkers on all aspects of the Cloud Engineering platform build and evolution.
- Develop an enterprise IT infrastructure services roadmaps and solution architecture to ensure service availability, scalability, IT service continuity and overall cost effectiveness of application and service delivery
- Institute processes and automations in a DevOps model to speed delivery of infrastructure, development code, and services to production.
- Provide leadership and direction in multiple technology domains and project initiatives. Technology domains will include AWS Cloud Compute, Storage, and Network services, virtualization, storage, Linux and Windows servers, database, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and containerization.
Experience:
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Ansible or Terraform.
- Knowledge of technical design of IT enterprise infrastructure including network (WAN, LAN, Wireless, SDWAN, switching, routing, VPNs, firewalls, etc.), Telecom (voice, collaboration, etc.), compute, storage, virtualization, database, directory, authentication, monitoring, identity, access and remote access services
- Knowledge of cloud reference architectures and AWS best practices.
- Strong experience deploying and managing serverless AWS applications with Amazon Lambda.
- Experience with EC2 features for provisioning, monitoring, scaling and distribution of compute and network infrastructure.
- Experience working with AWS databases and object storage (RDS, DynamoDb, S3).
- Experience developing with AWS services using SDKs.
- Experience with Git as a source code control provider.
- Experience working with containerization technologies, including ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
