• Type: IT-Software/ Software Services Role: Network Security Engineer
• The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation and deployment of advanced technologies to enhance or create new security capabilities.
• The position requires expert level knowledge of layer 2 through layer 5 protocols and technologies across a range of hardware/infrastructure, including in-depth knowledge of network security products such as Firewalls/Next Generation Firewalls, Web Security, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Sandboxing, Data Loss Prevention, SSLVPN and Network Access Control.
• The ideal candidate is self-motivated and envisions innovative solutions to provide efficient and enhanced security posture.
• The Network Security Engineer coordinates with other Information Security and IT functional groups, influencing outcomes as appropriate.
• Responsible for evaluating and deploying security infrastructure including next generation firewall, investigation for a large global network.
• Responsible for the integration of security focused solutions into a global network.
• Coordinates with various teams to ensure firewalls are configured with the correct security posture to support business requirements.
• Participates in a queue to add firewall rules, troubleshoot security issues, etc.
• Troubleshoots and resolves critical network and system issues.
• Drives projects to completion with minimal supervision.
• 5+ years of hands on experience with ACLs, Firewalls, and/or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing security solutions in large environments
• Strong knowledge in Palo Alto Networks firewalling technology and centralized firewall management.
• Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration and operation of high-end firewall appliances, ideally Palo Alto Networks products.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Layer 2-5 protocols and technologies.
• Strong knowledge and experience with routing and security protocols, especially OSPF.
• Strong knowledge and experience with ACLs, Firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention Systems.
• Experience with application, server, and network monitoring solutions.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced team environment to reach highly stringent deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
