This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a general IT background who are looking to transition into the cybersecurity field. The role focuses on Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, including monitoring security events, responding to threats, and collaborating with operational teams to resolve issues. This will be a hybrid role where there is an expectation to be on-site regularly with occasional travel to other sites.

Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts using various cybersecurity tools and platforms
- Analyze and triage security incidents, determining their severity and potential impact
- Respond to and investigate potential security threats in a timely manner
- Collaborate with operational teams to address and resolve security issues
- Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures
- Participate in routine security assessments and vulnerability scans
- Maintain logs and documentation of security incidents and resolutions
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent
- Experience with SIEM tools
- Basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR 6 years of IT experience
- Strong understanding of general IT concepts and systems
- Basic knowledge of network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Desire to learn and grow in the cybersecurity field
- May be required to maintain security clearance
