Position Overview:
As an IT/DevOps Engineer, you will assist in supporting the company’s cloud and on premise infrastructure, ensuring systems adhere to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in administration, security, and automation, all while working alongside senior engineers and leadership to ensure compliance with industry and government security requirements.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in an IT support, cyber security, or systems engineering role.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred) and managing cloud environments.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
- Understanding of networking principles (VPN, DNS, firewalls, etc.).
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or similar is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with teams and users.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to AWS GovCloud or Microsoft GCC High environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
- Knowledge of hardware provisioning tools like DRP.
- Basic understanding of CMMC compliance requirements (also known as NIST 800-171).

Geon Technologies provides wage ranges in accordance with the Maryland Wage Range Transparency law. Pay within the range will be decided by the company in its sole discretion and will be based on several factors including but not limited to experience and/or other qualifications. The projected pay range for this position is $60,000- $90,000.
