Summary
The IT Specialist holds a pivotal role, responsible for deploying our standardized security stack and cultivating in-depth expertise in designated security tools. Beyond this, they play a crucial role as a security advocate, actively championing and endorsing security measures throughout the organization. This entails hands-on engagement with the company's security tools, addressing escalated security tickets and active participation in incident response. The ideal candidate will diagnose and resolve technical issues, install hardware, configure software, conduct testing, and collaborate with project managers. They will be responsible for documenting processes, providing user training, and contributing to post-project reviews. This role demands a blend of technical, security, and project management skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Internal:
- Deploy, maintain, and provide support for robust security solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales/vCIO teams to strategically position the standard security stack within the existing client base.
- Cultivate and deepen expertise in security products and services, effectively communicating their value as needed.
- Implement and uphold the internal standard security stack.
- Ensure continuous compliance with standard security stack protocols, relevant SOPs, and established security configuration standards.
- Engage with internal service and project departments to streamline operations.
External:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
- Install and configure hardware components, including servers, computers, and networking equipment.
- Deploy and configure essential software applications in alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of systems and applications to verify adherence to project requirements.
- Identify and report bugs or issues, collaborating with the development team for prompt resolution.
- Work closely with project managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation outlining project-related processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide user training on newly implemented technologies or systems associated with the project.
- Participate in post-project reviews to glean insights, identify lessons learned, and pinpoint areas for improvement.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional I.T. experience.
- Broad knowledge of industry standards and best practices regarding operational I.T. infrastructure.
- Relevant experience evaluating, recommending, and participating in strategic organizational improvements.
- Advanced technical I.T. skills supporting Windows and Mac desktops and infrastructure (servers, cloud, and networking).
- Superb communication skills, including effective facilitation, listening, and writing.
- Ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Training and certifications in I.T. and cybersecurity (A+, Network+, Security+, etc.).

Physical Requirements
Work is primarily knowledge-worker oriented using computer systems. Occasional exertion and lifting of up to 20 pounds to move office or computer equipment. Occasional crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Constant use of computer (keyboard/mouse), and phone. Visually inspects, prepares, and analyzes data & figures, views computer constantly. Occasional travel (car/airplane). Occasional exposure to outdoor environmental conditions because of travel.
