Software Engineer (Kinematics & Robotics, Computational Geometry)

Continuous Composites, headquartered in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is the industry leader of Continuous Fiber 3D Printing (CF3D®). We are developing a novel manufacturing method for carbon fiber composite components, primarily for aerospace customers.
Your Role on the Team
We are looking for an experienced software engineering specialist in one of the following subdomains:
- Kinematics & Robotics – demonstrated work experience working with multi-axis robots and non-cartesian kinematics. 6-axis preferred
- Computational Geometry – Demonstrated work experience developing computational geometry algorithms. Strong understanding of mathematics, state of the art computational geometry, and optimization techniques
Responsibilities
- Develop the next generation of continuous fiber toolpathing software
- Produce and drive adoption of best practices for coding and testing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, or other related field, 8+ years related experience
- Must have at least 3 years expertise in at least one of the following
- Kinematics & Robotics
- Computational Geometry
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Strong development skills in at least one OOP language (C++ preferred
Desired Experience:
- Advanced computational geometry and/or linear algebra: CGAL, Eigen, or other libraries
- Robotics, particularly path-planning and/or kinematics, G-code, etc.
- Finite element analysis tools and underlying methods
- Additive manufacturing, broadly
- Relevant Masters or PhD
