Our team is looking for a Systems Administrator to focus on the development and administration of a wide variety of systems and environments at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO with potential future shift work. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring software releases to both test and operational environments. You will also be responsible for maintaining these systems, configuring both operating systems and software products, as well as installing required software patches and security updates for the systems. In addition, you may provide assistance during test and integration events by resolving system problems, provide system backups, and system maintenance. You will have the opportunity to participate in real-world, cutting-edge Space Situational Awareness systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.
Candidate must have strong troubleshooting and communication skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 6-8 years of experience in system administration. Six (6) years of additional experience, applicable training and/or certifications may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree
• Experience maintaining smooth operation of multiple DoD baseline environments (Production, Test, Development) across multiple classification levels
• Extensive System Administration skills in Enterprise Linux with basic Windows knowledge
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, to include Dell/Cisco IOS familiarity (Firewalls, Routers)
• Knowledge and experience with VMware and virtualization as well as configuring and maintaining server hardware/infrastructure
• Experience with scripting languages such as Windows Powershell and Unix shell for troubleshooting and automation of routine takss.
• Experience monitoring and managing system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency and tuning system performance
• Experience with administration of configuration management software and automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible) for system management and deployment
• Experience with access management and client account technical support (Windows Active Directory, DNS)
• Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user accounts and deploying system patches/updates
• Evaluate and recommend system architecture designs and present as part of change control process; Interact with users regarding vendor product selection
• Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and concepts quickly
• High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enjoy customer interactions
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• DoD 8570 Certification (Security+, CCNA, etc.) or ability to obtain
• This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

• Familiar with COMSEC requirements and procedures

• Knowledge with installation and maintenance of backup and recovery solutions
• Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
• Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures
• Experience with scripting languages such as Windows Powershell and Unix shell for troubleshooting, and automation of routine tasks
• Experience with installation and maintenance of databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Accumulo
• Experience with full DevOps toolchain (Jira, Confluence, SCM, Jenkins, Coverity, Artifactory, Docker)
• Experience with installation and maintenance of application servers such as Apache Tomcat, Wildfly
• Experience with installation and maintenance of web servers such as Apache HTTPD
• Experience with configuration management and software build processes

Salary Range:
