The Sensor Technician will support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.
A successful candidate should be able to perform, have experience with or have knowledge and understanding of:
- Experience:
- Required minimum three to five years (3-5) of relevant experience; DoD experience preferred
- Required minimum three to five (3-5) years’ experience in the following areas: IP addressing and domain name service; network components; TCP/UDP, FTP, SMTP, and HTTP; and the network OSI model
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsUse of the following UNIX functions: general Unix operating system file locations; maneuvering through Unix-based directory file structures; use of a Unix-based editor (vi, tedi, emacs, elm, EDT, EVE, etc); and generic Unix operating system file locations; changing file mode and privileges and how to gain access, reference, and print Unix-based help on-lineThe ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage IPS/IDS and FPC/NTSA technologies.Understanding of VMware technologies and its possible integration and use with Third-Party sensor deploymentsAbility to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goalsSuperior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksUnderstanding of Intel-based computers using Microsoft based operating systemsUse of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to work in a Panama Schedule (0600-1800 or 1800-0600) within a 24/7 – 365 work environment
Education:
High School Degree RequiredBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience
Licenses & Certifications:
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance Required to have one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP Required to have one of the following IAT CSSP certifications for Infrastructure Support: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CNDPossession of one of the following certifications: CISCO certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) or Linux+
