Overview:
Softtek Government Solutions is in search of a Sr. IT Project Manager that will provide all labor, materials, and supervision to provide professional staffing support services for the federal government.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. IT Project Manager to join our team.
This position will be full-time and fully remote.
Responsibilities:
The Sr. IT Project Manager will be responsible for supporting and coordinating complex IT systems projects for the Federal Government, including those related to servers, cloud infrastructure, geospatial infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations such as the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), HHS and ASPR Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, and other relevant IT security and operational regulations. This individual must have extensive experience in IT project management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and risk management. The Senior IT Systems Project Manager support technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders to align project outcomes with strategic objectives.
Project Planning and Management
- Comprehensive Project Planning: Lead the development of detailed project plans for federal IT systems initiatives, including defining project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure that all project plans are aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments specific to federal IT systems projects, identifying potential technical, operational, and security risks. Develop and support implementation mitigation strategies to address these challenges.
- Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present detailed status reports to senior leadership, providing insights into project performance, risks, and milestones, with a focus on security, compliance, and infrastructure outcomes. Knowledge of (DUA) data use agreement.
Partnership Communication and Support
- Cross Departmental Collaboration: Support system owners, users’ other stakeholders to ensure integration of systems within the organization's broader infrastructure to include support for standing up change control board and governance procedures.
- Partnership Engagement: Support and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners, including vendors, contractors, and other federal agencies. Leverage these partnerships to enhance project outcomes and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Documentation Development: Support development and maintenance of technical documentation and standard operation procedures for various systems. Ensure that all project-related information is accurately captured and easily accessible.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Project Management: Strong understanding of program management principles, including tracking deliverables, managing risks, and overseeing project milestones to ensure successful project completion. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and FAC-PM preferred but not required.
- Advanced Software Skills: Proficient in using IT project management tools and platforms, as well as the Microsoft suite (Teams, Projects, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word) and/or other project management software. Advanced Writing/Presentation skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strategic thinking is a plus…Strong interpersonal skills.
- Organizational Skills: Superior organizational abilities, including attention to detail, multitasking, and the capacity to manage multiple large-scale federal IT, cloud, and geospatial infrastructure projects simultaneously. Proven Control board governance experience needed.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in IT project management practices.
- Self-Starter and Proactive: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively address challenges, ensuring successful IT project outcomes.
Required Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management, with three years of leading project management for IT systems.
- Bachelor’s degree/Computer Science/Information Technology
