Role and Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
Ensures the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all Information Technology (IT) and cybersecurity services. Develops and designs security solutions to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information throughout the enterprise. Identifies, plans, and documents improvements to security controls. Develops and documents recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to solve complex cybersecurity problems. Develops and interprets cybersecurity requirements and assists in the formulation of cybersecurity/IT budgets. Plans and schedules the installation of new or modified security hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Ensures the assessment and implementation of identified computer and network environment fixes as part of the Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management program. Guides the implementation of appropriate operational structures and processes to ensure an effective cybersecurity program.
Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.
Evaluates, develops, and delivers technical input to the systems engineering process. Develops technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Oversees the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables produced. Communicates with program personnel, Government stakeholders, and senior executives.
Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer who desires to focus on soup to nuts cyber project management and coordination - to completely own applied research and experimentation projects and ensure their success by doing whatever it takes to achieve that success. You'll be engineering projects that will develop and implement next-generation IT tools, systems, and capabilities to help revolution the cyber battlefield and ensure the superiority of our cyber forces over our adversaries. You'll coordinate with various parties to ensure the mission effect is achieved, and utilize your technical expertise throughout the entire process to ensure everything is accomplished in a sound and secure manner.
• Evaluate, develop, and deliver technical input to the systems engineering process
• Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation
• Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
• Oversee the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
• Communicate with other program personnel, Government overseers, and senior executives
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
• Analyze complex information and independently take appropriate actions to resolve problems
• Provide engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners
• Deliver briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers
• Work complex research projects as a senior contributor and as part of an integrated research team
• Design and deliver solutions
Required Skills:
• Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Engineer
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification
Desired Skills:
• Exposure to Cloud/AWS
• A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution
• Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF)
• Able to build systems from the ground up – network architecture/systems engineering
