Overview:
Aveshka is seeking a Sr. Management Analyst (Public Health) to support the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). ASPR is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
This full time position and will be performed in the designated greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area and virtually as identified.
Responsibilities:
Supports ASPR on public health projects and programs. Takes part in strategic planning teams, including performing situational assessments, developing the goals, sub-goals, major mission elements, and metrics for measuring progress in a particular nation or region. Serves as a representative of ASPR and interagency initiatives. Identify required resources to achieve ASPR objectives and collaborate to develop plans for their obtainment.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (Management or Business); 8-10 years of experience
- Graduate degree (masters in a public health field, knowledge of public health preparedness and response, including international health); 4-6+ years public health experience.
Required Clearance:
- Public Trust Clearance (US Citizenship)
Skills Required:
- Ability to develop job aids, assist with development of HR process, support response capabilities
- Calendar management experience
- Strong writing and communication skills are needed for all positions.
- Demonstrated experience in the aggregation of multiple data points, establishment of metrics and measures, conduct of course of action analysis, and collation of information into succinct products for senior leaders.
- Experience in facilitating collaboration across multiple workstreams and agencies, as well as operating in interagency and/or intergovernmental organizations.
- Self-starter with the ability to critically think at the operational level to determine and recommend current and future planning needs and work simultaneously across multiple planning lines of effort.
- Experience briefing senior leadership on a plan development, highlighting operational and strategic impacts.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook and a working proficiency in remote/virtual meeting environments such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (e.g., time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail).
Preferred Skills:
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in operational and contingency planning, analysis, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Comprehensive Planning Guide 101 6-step planning process (or equivalent).
- At least one (1) FEMA Emergency Management Institute self-study planner’s course.
