The Fulfillment group within the Marketplace division is responsible for managing inventory availability and ensuring seamless rider fulfillment. This dynamic team oversees several sub-teams focused on generating offers for riders, connecting them with drivers, and maintaining a robust demand-supply platform to optimize rideshare experiences.
As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with fellow engineers and cross-functional teams such as product, data science, and analytics. You will lead and execute significant projects, from conception to implementation, in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment. We seek a motivated individual passionate about solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the technology roadmap and architectural decisions based on business needs
- Develop well-crafted, well-tested, and maintainable code
- Understand and articulate trade-offs made in technical decisions
- Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality and share knowledge
- Implement features from technical specifications to successful deployment
- Proactively engage in resolving incidents and support ongoing operations
- Collaborate effectively across teams to achieve goals and communicate progress
- Share knowledge through tech talks and presentations
Experience:
- BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of industry experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming
- Experience designing, debugging, and operating fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed systems
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, TeamCity)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal

This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with in-office expectations three days per week and flexibility to work remotely for up to four weeks annually.
The expected salary range for this position in the San Francisco area is $124,000-$155,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience, excluding potential equity, bonuses, or benefits. Additional details can be provided by your recruiter during the hiring process.
