The Embedded Infotainment Software Engineer is responsible for creating unique software design solutions for leveraging the capabilities of hardware and software platforms.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do…
As Embedded Infotainment Software Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for creating unique software design solutions for leveraging the capabilities of hardware and software platforms in the infotainment area. The candidate will participate in the full life cycle of our Software development process with special focus on validation and product quality. The candidate can expect to be involved in all the facets of Software design, development, requirements, test plans including development of automation, supporting execution and vehicle testing to deliver robust design solutions that delight our customer daily and make Ford an essential part of their lives.
The candidate will work with the various development teams to:
· Understand Requirements, Design, document, and test software following the Agile Process
· Develop device drivers, middleware services, and applications in C/C++/Java for cameras in Ford SYNC infotainment products and ECU’s using QNX, Linux and Android as development platforms.
· Root cause the various issues reported from internal and external development teams including suppliers and Customer vehicles.
· Optimize software design and implementation to meet system KP
QualificationsYou'll have…
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree' or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
· 3+ years of professional experience on all aspects of software development
· 2+ years of experience in C, C++, or Java
· 2+ years of professional experience with device driver, middleware services, and application design and development for embedded software systems
2+ years of experience with camera driver and application design and development

· Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
· Experience on Electrical Architecture, or Functional Architecture, or Software Architecture
· 2+ years of professional experience in infotainment software development
· 2+ years of experience in software development using QNX, Linux and Android platform
· 1+ years of Experience in design and development and testing with Qualcomm SOC’s
· 2+ years of experience in development of low-level software components, drivers in C, C++
· 2+ years of experience in development of applications in Java
· 2+ years of experience in development of test utilities in Python
· 2+ years of experience in development of Software Design, Requirements, Hardware/Software Interface Specifications and Component Unit Tests, Test Plans
· 1+ year of Experience in secure coding practices and modern software development methodology, such as pair programming, test-first/test-driven development OR demonstrated delivery of singular focus programming
· Effectively uses software configuration management (source control, DevSecOps, CI/CD, etc.)
· Work effectively on an agile team following agile practices with Internal Software teams and Design Verification groups as well as with external suppliers
· Working level understanding of leveraging the big data to review metrics on software quality, performance, and stability
· Proficient with Automation tools. Understands and applies industry Software Quality Assurance standards (ASPICE, ISTQB, ASAM, INCOSE, etc.)
· Proficiency in reading and understanding schematics, technical reference manuals and using oscilloscopes and multimeters as required
