What You’ll Need
- Experience: Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong track record of technical leadership and impactful contributions. A track record of 3+ years of software engineering experience building consumer products.
- Technical Skills: Proven expertise in our stack: Javascript/TypeScript with React on the frontend, and one backend language (we focus on Ruby and Go). Experience with NextJS or Remix preferred.
- Product Sense: Ability to make data-driven product decisions, working with Product and various stakeholders to build products that start and end with the customer.

The Marketplace team is looking for a software engineer to help build out the future of real estate. This role will involve collaborating across functions to dream up, build, and release new features that drive learnings and delight our customers. This is a full-stack role, involving building extraordinary user experiences on the frontend while creating reliable backend services to support the growth of the team.
What You’ll Do
- Work with product and design to evaluate, solution, and implement new features, driving the full development lifecycle from idea to release across the frontend and backend.
- Mentor and coach other engineers, sharing best practices around coding and architecture that support a business at an early growth stage.
- Take part in code reviews and architectural discussions as you work with other software engineers, UX designers, and product managers.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve development velocity and iteration speed.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience crafting engaging mobile apps with React Native, or iOS and Android native technologies
- Early stage startup experience
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The U.S. pay range for this position in most locations is $114,400-$161,000 annually. In the SF Bay Area of California, Seattle, and New York City Metro area the base salary range is $143,200 - $179,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
