Job Overview
We are looking for a Vice President of Software Engineering who will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the technology delivery for the Banking and Lending solutions space. This role will require strong technical skills, execution and delivery expertise, and a proven track record while fostering engineering excellence with an open innovative culture. Work with a dynamic, high-caliber, cross-functional team including engineering, product, and design to co-create world-class products. Lead the engineering effort to deliver technology solutions with high standards, pre-production environments, and development tools. Activities will also include daily oversight of development quality, partnering with solution architecture to establish patterns that progress the teams towards scalable platforms.
Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance to team members with a deep understanding of the technology stack. Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
- Lead Delivery and Modernization: Oversee the delivery and modernization of a domain and application landscape, re-architecting for public cloud delivery using modern microservices-based architecture and best practices.
- Define Technical OKRs: Work with agile teams to drive capabilities, transformation, and business outcomes for the domains/platforms. Drive technology program delivery through established enterprise processes.
- Apply Modular Design Principles: Ensure better maintainability and reusability by following the principle of separation of concerns.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, vendors, clients/advisor teams, and partners.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with software development projects, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning process, identifying opportunities for technology to drive business growth and potential risks associated with emerging technologies.
- Drive Decision Making: Solve moderate to complex problems by understanding the viewpoints of other team members balanced with business requirements to achieve alignment on solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in the software development process by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes that enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack development, designing interactive web applications in .Net or Java
- Experience developing microservices, public cloud solutions, web services (REST APIs), Kafka messaging, and integrating with vendor APIs
- Mastery of front-end technologies/languages such as AngularJS, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Bootstrap, and JSON
- Cloud-based development experience with AWS (preferred) or other cloud platforms
- 10+ years of experience in an Engineering/Tech Lead capacity, guiding the team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support
- 8+ years in a Solution Architect capacity, designing and implementing complex systems, including developing solutions from scratch
Preferred Skills
- Banking and lending background
- .Net development experience

Pay Range
$170,800.00 - $284,600.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
